Snowed In

... or shall I say iced in! All this talk of snow and ice on Friday just made me skeptical. All the while thinking we're not going to get a lick of anything, we actually did. It's deceiving though - it's a thick layer of ice covered up by 1" of snow. I don't like the cold so we didn't even go out and play in it. Besides it was ice anyways. So... what did we do all weekend? Here's 10 things we did while we were "iced in":

1. Got up, saw the snow and went back to sleep until 8:30 AM. Thank you Ethan.
2. Made a big ol' breakfast complete with pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon and oranges.
3. Watched Cars with EG.
4. Made a tent upstairs with a blankets and a Thomas the train tent.
5. Put up a new light fixture over the kitchen table and a mirror in the master bedroom closet.
6. Read The Time Travelers Wife for two hours while EG napped. Thank you Ethan.
7. Created animals with Play-doh. Chris is really too good at this by the way.
8. Watched Cars with EG.
9. Watched a really cheesy low budget film.
10. Called it a night just to do it all over again on Sunday.

Friday Randomness

As I was making the play list for this weeks' edition of Flashback Friday it sure did bring back some memories of 1990. Especially this Tommy Page song - remember when he sang to Stephanie Tanner on Full House? *Sigh * I was in love too!

Tonight Carrie and I are doing our monthly scrap booking and gossip shindig. Oh how I look forward to these days. My project I'm attempting to finish is our wedding. It's so sad that I've barely put a dent in it and come April it will be six years that we've been married. So sad! I've decided I'm not working on anything else until it is DONE! So hopefully I'll have something to show for it soon on the blog.

Does anyone else feel like a bear in hibernation? It certainly goes to show when we haven't taken a single picture since Christmas. We're just stuck inside and well ... bored. With the snow that is supposed to come tonight and tomorrow, it'll give us an opportunity to stay in and get stuff done on the house. I've already rented two movies to catch up on so I'm excited about that.

It's a New Day

Ahh... it feels good to start fresh. I feel like spring has already arrived, but then I step outside and get a reality check! I wish I could go into detail about the reasoning for the new blog site, but we are trying to put the past behind us and move on. We decided to make a change in our privacy. So, we are putting a new foot forward and moving on with our heads held high. We are putting all our trust in God that each day is a new day and a new opportunity to try to serve Him best.

As an update on the house selling, I am meeting with a real estate agent next Tuesday to get a fair market value on the house. From there we'll determine when we will officially put the house on the market. We are still working here and there on cleaning, organizing and home improvements. Last Thursday we switched out a pendent that is above our island. I have hated that light fixture with a vengeance ever since we moved in and we've finally changed it! The previous fixture had one 60 watt bulb. The new one has 3 60 watt bulbs. It was like heaven opened up right there in our kitchen! Ahhhh. Then Chris has the audacity to say, "Why didn't we do this sooner?". Ummmm I think I mentioned it about a hundred times but he didn't think it was worth the money. Now I hope he'll listen to my suggestions from here on out! :) We'll keep everyone updated as to the status of our home! We're so excited to see what is store for us this year.
