Friday Randomness

Happy Friday Ya'll!

I hope everyone has some fun plans for the weekend. I know I do! My sister and mom were kind enough to throw me a small diapers/wipes shower tomorrow morning. It's at the cutest little coffee shop in Fort Mill for brunch so I'm super excited about it. It'll be a small gathering with some close friends which is always nice. I'm just looking forward to seeing them.

On a side note, we are 90% done with the nursery! Mom painted Monday and Tuesday so by Wednesday curtains went up, furniture was moved into position and the vinyl trees were taped onto place. It looks funny right now because the trees are taped up on the wall with blue painters tape so it's hard to tell how they really will look. I'm super excited though! Maybe tonight if I'm not dog tired, we'll put them on the wall. Nana is still working on the bumper which is fine. That little splash of blue will look really good in there because right now it's just ... brown. LOL - tan walls and dark brown furniture. The only blue you can see right now is the blue in the owl on the pillow on the chair.

I don't know if I've been just out of it or what but I totally missed Glee on Tuesday. I think I just assumed that since they did a Super Bowl episode, that they would skip a week. I was totally wrong and again, felt like such a horrible fan! I was scanning through the DVR last night and saw there was a new episode. IT was their Valentine's episode and it was FABULOUS! I am crushing on Blaine from the Warblers. SIGH. That last number, Silly Little Love Songs, was just wonderful. Wonderful.

The tummy bug is going around our family! Last week Chris had it, then my dad has something (maybe just a cold), then my mom got it at our house Monday night, then Ethan had it yesterday. Dear Lord, please don't give it to me! I'm hoping and praying all the hand washing is going to pay off.

Have a happy weekend!

Friday Randomness

I am SO glad it's Friday! Aren't you all!?! Too bad it's a sucky, rainy, cold Friday. At least the weekend is shaping up to be somewhat warmer and sunnier. It's pretty quiet around here at the office today which I love. It's nice to have not such a stressful start to the weekend.

I'm looking forward to a great weekend in Sparkle City seeing my good friend from high school, Jeannie. She is also having a little boy, her first, 10 days before me! She has been in residency in DC for the past two years so we don't get to see each other much so I am very very EXCITED! We'll be belly bumpin! :) I'm also looking forward to spending some time with my parents.

Speaking of bellies, I have started to get a little anxious lately about the arrival of our new little one. I think it's just the fear of not being 100% ready, and we never are, but I just want everything in place. The nursery is being painted as of Monday so that will make me feel better because then the rest of the decorations can go up. I think I've got a good bit of "recycled" clothes from Ethan even though the season may cause me to get some more warmer weather clothes for 0 to 3 months. We'll have to see what size this little one is going to be. If he's anything like Ethan, he'll chunk up pretty quickly. Other than that, I would say we are much more prepared than we were with Ethan. I just seem to be waiting until the last minute to get stuff out and prepared. I've been feeling a lot more achy and sore with this pregnancy but then again my body has been through this once before. I just know I'm going to be utterly miserable in another month. I'm trying not to complain but I'm sure Chris hears my grunts and moans and whines a little too much.

Another small project that I'd like to do if possible is re-do the hall bath and make it more kid friendly. I just cannot find something I like, which is normal! I'm so freakin' picky! I orginally thought of just an aquatic or jungle/animal theme since Ethan loves either of them. Baby #2 won't give a flip for a while. :) I'll do some more searching and see if I can find something I like soon so we can get a move on it.

We are STILL sllooowwly working on Ethan's room. I've been meaning to use my Quikcutz Silhouette vinyl clings forever and I finally cut some words last night. Here's a sneak peek (these were taken with my phone so bear with me):

I'm thinking I need to beef up his name a little bit, and I will be cutting out little trucks to look like they are pulling the words. And obviously I'm missing an & sign to add between "enduring" and "solid". It'll be cute when I'm done! Chris is still working on painting the vintage truck canvas that will go above his bed the opposite direction as well as the chalkboard and cork board frames that will go on the wall opposite this wall with the words. Sigh - in our spare time we try to get stuff done but never seem to catch up.

Have a very happy weekend!

Friday Randomness

I'm actually blogging on Saturday morning not Friday, but let's pretend it was otherwise! I'm sitting down on the couch next to Ethan while he watches Lilo and Stitch while I am resting my back from helping Chris do things in the nursery. When I woke up this morning I made a "Honey Do List" and most of the items on the check list included things to get done in the nursery, like converting the crib back from being a toddler bed and prepping the room for painting in one week! I'm so excited to finally get things going in there. I feel like I'm mostly prepared - I've got curtains, a bed skirt, fitted sheets, decorations and once the walls are painted a light tan, we'll put these up:
These are some other items I have to bring it all together:

The blue in the owls is what color the bumper will be, but with chocolate brown ties and piping. Ohhh so very excited!

On another note, since I've been getting bigger and bigger I have been sleeping horribly at night. I didn't have a preggo pillow when I was pregnant with Ethan and I regret it because I literally slept with four pillows around me, hence not leaving much room for Chris. So, I've been researching these preggo pillows. I finally caved and bought one and have had it for two WONDERFUL nights! The first night was interesting because I did feel like I had an anaconda wrapped around me! Even Chris saw it and said, "You're gonna sleep inside that?!" I just had to laugh. So far it has been well worth the money!

Three weeks ago my friend Jamie from Oasis Photography came to our house and took pictures of our family and my big ol' belly - partly for maternity pictures partly for Ethan's 3 year pictures. She finally just sent them to me on Thursday and I was absolutely blown away by how great they were! I should be getting the CD from her sometime this weekend so I'll post them. They are amazing and just wonderful! I can't wait to share them.

My sister and brother in law, Tim, will be baptised tomorrow morning! Congratulations to both of them for commiting their lives even further to God! How amazing.

Happy Friday and everyone have a great weekend with this wonderful weather we are to have!

10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. I am absolutely horrible at blogging lately! I feel so bad because I truly do love blogging about our family and about Ethan, I just don't have the desire or energy to do so lately. That's so bad.
  2. I did once mention that I did not believe in New Year's Resolutions, although I do have quite a couple goals to achieve before this baby is born. One is to finish our wedding album once and for all. Two is to make dinners and breakfasts to last at least two months. Any suggestions?
  3. Considering I am 29 weeks pregnant and we haven't even STARTED on the nursery, I am surprisingly calm. It is a wreck right now with all the boxes and crap I've put in there. I have already gotten a theme and vision and purchased all the fabric to make a custom crib bumper with Nana. I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but it is a woods/owl theme in khaki's, chocolate browns and tealish blues. I'm very excited to see how it's going to turn out and we ARE getting started on the painting in two weeks. Mom is coming to help and I will be so excited to actually see paint on the walls.
  4. Anyone have any Bed Bath and Beyond coupons they can spare? I need to get some curtains for the nursery!
  5. Baby clothes are so much smaller than I remember them being. During our snow days, I pulled all the clothes that baby Cassidy #2 can wear, washed them all and put them away into the drawers. At least that's one thing checked off my list.
  6. Keeping the name of baby #2 is hard work - too bad Ethan has a big mouth and has spilled the beans on several occasions. What people don't know is that we feed him different names all the time. ;)
  7. I have gained 8 pounds in one month.
  8. As of March 1, I will be home for an entire month before the baby arrives. It's a decision my boss and I came to and I am totally ok with it. Yes I will not be getting paid starting in March, but I better get used to it now. Wow - I just realized I will be a stay at home mom very soon. Eek
  9. Being pregnant is one of the most challenging, yet so rewarding, experiences a woman can ever have. I NEVER get tired of this baby moving .. and he moves all. the. time. Never.stops.moving. Dear Lord - please don't give me another wild and crazy kid. Totally kidding. Kind of.
  10. I'm just realizing that I did not even post an update from two weeks ago with our follow up appointment to the cyst. IT HAS CLEARED! Praise the Lord and hallelujah! All looks well and he is developing perfectly from what they can tell. Thought I'd share the wealth!

Happy Friday Ya'll!

Aren't you glad it's Friday? I sure am! I'm looking forward to a nice, relaxing weekend. Tonight, my BFF Carrie and I are scrappin'. We haven't done so in about two months, since before her newest little one, Noah, was born. So needless to day, I'm itching to get some stuff done and possibly even start on some Christmas layouts! Gotta stay ahead of the game. Tomorrow is Winthrop's Homecoming in which I'm not sure if we will attend, but it would be nice to run into some old faces possibly. Any of you WU alums going?

As an update, I PROMISE to get some pictures up very soon of what's going on in the house. It's been a while since Ethan's room has been painted and nothing has been done so far until this week when my parents brought the bed frame and dresser. Did I mention the steal I got at the PB Outlet? My mom and I found a full bed (we planned on a twin but this deal was too good to pass up) and an extra wide dresser at a grand total of $580 including tax and a 40% off sale! I was so excited! So, we still have a few accessories and decorating to do, as well as get the mattress then we'll be able to move EE into his new room. I'm excited to be able to show him his new bed and for him to sleep in it. I've got a few ideas brewing for the nursery now that we know it's a boy. We probably won't get started on that until January probably. We need to get though the holidays.

One other thing. We have struggled with if we should mention this or not and we need prayers, so we have decided to talk about it on our blog only - not publicly, like Facebook! After the ultrasound on Tuesday, the midwife came in and said there was one thing they saw that is raising some concern. The baby has what is called Choroid Plexus Cyst. I've copied this from a medical website to better explain - basically what it is is the area of the brain that makes the spinal fluid that surrounds the brain and spinal cord. There are two of these areas in the brain, one on either side. This is not an area of the brain that is involved in thinking. Once in a while a cyst forms inside the choroid plexus and is called a “choroid plexus cyst” or a “CPC”. Cysts can be found on one side or on both sides and they come in many different sizes. A choroid plexus cyst does NOT cause learning problems or mental retardation and are not cancer. Although it can be scary to hear the two words “cyst” and “brain” in the same sentence, these cysts are not known to cause any problems for a baby. Choroid plexus cysts are seen in approximately 1% (1 in 100) of all second or third trimester ultrasounds. They usually disappear during the third trimester but they don’t always. It doesn’t make any difference if they disappear or not. These cysts can also be found in adult brains and go unnoticed during our lifetime. The midwife, Jan, expressed greatly that she is not in the least worried about it and she thinks it will resolve itself by 28 weeks, which is when they want to have me back for a second ultrasound to make sure. If at that point it has not resolved itself, they will refer us to the Women's Institute. We are praying for it to resolve and we are asking for your prayers that it will too. Of course, when she told us the news, of course we are not prepared to hear anything bad so we were in shock and asked a million questions. It's hard to be so happy about the news that the baby looks 99% great, then to have a downer like this. We are blessed that everything else in the ultrasound showed great development in everything else so we feel confident that everything will be fine. The next 8 weeks will go by slowly. I woke up Wednesday morning with a pit in my stomach and a cloud around me all day but I've been praying and have truly felt God's hands around me comforting me and the baby.

On a postive note, enjoy the latest baby bump watch picture. I feel like a cornball because I took it of myself in the mirror at work. What a dork. We just always forget to take one at home in the evenings because we're just beat from the day.

Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday and Halloween weekend ya'll!

I for one do not care for Halloween, but when you have a child, everything is much more fun. I was just telling Chris that I felt like a bad mom for not having any Halloween-type activities for E this week, so maybe this weekend we'll decorate some baby pumpkins or bake some cookies. I am excited about seeing E in his race car costume and trick or treating on Sunday!

We are having our very first yard sale tomorrow morning. We've been busy cleaning out the attic, closets and the house and getting rid of stuff we will never use again. The big ticket items are our living room couch and my favorite green PB chair I've had since my first apartment. Sniff - the memories. The fact of the matter is that we just don't have room for them and they gotta go. Fingers crossed it will go well!

Thank goodness we don't have any major plans this weekend - just Halloween stuff and relaxing for once. Have a great Halloween weekend!

Happy Friday Ya'll!

It sure has been a while since I've done this! Ahh it feels good to blog again on a Friday morning where I don't have much going on at work. Well, actually I do have a 10 AM coming in in about 20 minutes so I'll make this snappy.

I am so behind in my post about going camping AND Frankie and Ashley's wedding, so I hope to do that this weekend. I've started them both but it takes so freakin' long to upload pictures and videos it drives me nuts! I promise it will be soon!

We are making our annual trip up to Sky Top Orchard in Flat Rock, NC this weekend and I for one am so excited! It's a super cool place with a lot to do. Ethan really enjoyed it this year and this will tell you how incredible his memory is. I told him we are going to the apple farm and he said, "And pick apples, and feed the goats, and play on the playground, and ride on the hay (meaning hayride), and eat donuts...". My mouth just fell open and I was so shocked! His memory is crazy! But yes, it has all of that and my most favorite are the apple cider donuts! Ohhhh I will be devouring them! They also have a small little selection of pumpkins which we still have not done yet, so hopefully we'll be picking a punkin' out too.

We are in the process of flipping our house upside down - quite literally. After discussing what seemed like 2 hours or more, and losing sleep over it, we have decided what we are going to do about rearranging things in the house to make it it better for our lifestyle, especially when the new baby comes. Right now our living room is just a living room. No purpose really - just a sitting area. It's nice but not really functional. The bonus room has been our "living room" where our TV is and some toys. So what we will do now is move the TV and sectional couch down to the living room and actually make that a living room. The only problem is that the sectional is so long especially with the two side tables and ottoman, so it will take up a good bit of room but it will work better for the family. Plus it will keep guests who come over in the bottom of the house, and not having to go upstairs to watch TV. The bonus room now has our desks, which were in our office which will now be the nursery, and we will make the room more of a playroom / office / kids TV watching area. I'm excited about the change .. now we just have to find a few strapping lads to help move the really really heavy couch, and other things too. Wish us luck! I hope to post about that too.

We also are in the process of making E's room a big boy room. My mom was sweet enough to come and help us paint it this week and it's looking pretty good! It's a mossy green which is quite different for our color scheme in our house but it's going to match the bedding and new bed quite nicely. I'm excited to be able to reveal that to him too. Hopefully he will be just as excited as we are to give that to him.

Last but not least will be the nursery whenever we can get to that, which will probably be January. Nothing like cutting it close - still three months to go at that point so we should be ok, right? I was a nervous wreck when E's room wasn't done in November and our furniture didn't arrive until November 1st, so hopefully this time around I won't freak out. Stay tuned!

Have a great weekend ya'll!

We are half-way packed and ready to hit the road on our very first family camping trip. Both Chris and I have fond memories of camping with our families when we were young and we want to start that with Ethan as soon as possible. Now is the time to go ... before I get huge and baby #2 comes and besides ... it's FALL! The weather should be nice ... mid 70's during the day, but 45 at night! BRRR - good thing we've got four blankets and fleece PJ's to brave the cold. I'm actually very excited about this trip. For the most part, just being in nature during the fall season is just dreamy to me. We've been talking with E about camping for the past few weeks and he seems excited .. maybe more about the animals we may run into, like a bear. Eek - you'll see mama freak out if we see a bear! We've got some fun activities planned such as hiking on the campground premises, Linville Caverns and Falls, mining at Emerald Village (E loves rocks - what boy doesn't?), maybe picking an apple or two at the Orchard at Altapass, and enjoying the cutest town in the world, Little Switzerland. Here is where we are going ...

Happy Friday Ya'll!

Sorry I've been so MIA lately! But I did have a fantastic update on how E is doing potty training. I am happy to report that he didn't have any accidents at school yesterday, he actually told me that he had to poop yesterday evening, he stayed dry all night, and then again told me when he had to poop this morning! YIPEE!!! GOOOO Ethan! I think we are well on our way to officially being PT ... potty trained that is! I do have to brag on him a little more in saying that he hasn't had a pee pee accident in a very long time and hasn't had one at all at school. I knew the poop thing would be an issue, but he's coming right along! He LOVES to be praised and tell anyone he can that he pooped in the potty. I'm not so sure that's a good thing!

Have a great weekend and enjoy all this college football starting back this weekend! Yahoo!

Happy Friday Ya'll and hello again. I'm sorry I haven't blogged lately - we've just had a lot going on so I haven't had a chance. I hope to keep it up in the coming weeks.

One big thing that is going on in our household this weekend is POTTY TRAINING! Yippe ... and EEK! I guess I am as ready as I can possibly be and with both Chris and I doing it together, hopefully we will be successful! So, wish us luck as we take this new adventure together. My fingers are crossed for the little man. We've got our Buzz and Woody and KaChow undies ready to go! I'm sure I'll have a lot to blog about after the weekend is over.

I'm really looking forward to next weekend where my KWH (Kate Wofford Hall) girls are coming to my house to have our annual get together. We try to get together every now and then, especially when one of us has a new baby, which is Heather. I can't wait!

Have a great weekend ya'll!

Happy Friday Ya'll!

I'm getting to excited about consignment sales coming up very soon! I started getting the emails last week and have been writing the dates down on my calendar and in my phone. Carrie even talked me into consigning a few items just so we can get a pass into the consigner night before the sale opens to the general public. My - what a great idea! I went through several of E's boxes of clothes and found quite a bit that he didn't wear, and another baby boy wouldn't wear, and found 25 items, which is the minimum. I don't care about making any kind of money back because I probably won't but I'm just pumped about getting into the sale early!

I think we have come to the end of our rope with the whole potty training thing. I have borrowed a book from my friend Abbie about the Three Day Potty Training. I'll blog more about that to come. I'm actually very motivated though!

I think it's funny that I added this Twiddly Winks stick family to the bottom of our page and it shows Ethan being taller than Abbey. LOL - that's funny considering Abbey is a beast.

As an update on the house, we have been talking with the realtor about doing an open house either this weekend or next. Maybe, just maybe, we'll get some activity out of that too. She said Rock Hill is very competitive right now - all anyone cares about is price. We'll see what happens. As of this week, we have 1 1/2 months left on the contract.

We are all suffering summer colds in our house right now. It seems as if the little booger brought it home to us last week. He's been slightly stuffy with a crusty nose and now Chris has a full fledged cold. I'm starting to get signs so hopefully it won't affect the weekend!

Tomorrow is Chris' 31st Birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS!!!

Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday Ya'll!

Update on the house: after having a second showing cancel while we were at the beach and then another showing just last week fall flat, we made the hard decision to reduce the price by just $5K. We are now in a different pricing bracket so we'll see how that pans out. We have a month and a half left on our 6 month contract and we are not sure if we will renew for another 6 months yet or not. I am growing so very tired of our bedroom and so I'm itching to change it up. Obviously that would not make sense to do so if we are selling the house. I also want to make E a big boy room so that wouldn't make sense either. Would somebody please buy our house? I promise it's cute as a button. :)

Once again Kent Boyd has stolen my heart. Ya know, my boy toy from SYTYCD? Don't worry - Chris knows all about my boy crush. I've been trying to track down some videos of his performances this week and last because they're just too fabulous to pass up. You can see them here:

This one is totally worth noting as well. It'll make ya cry.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Happy Friday Ya'll!
Ok so apparently I cannot count. My pa-in-law informed me that I had only 9 top things I learned last week. So my #10 that I learned is that I cannot count. :)

We are leaving for our family beach vacation in Edisto tomorrow morning!!! I am SO excited and that's all I've been able to think about for at least the past week or two! Here is the oasis where we will call home for a week.

Two other big events that will be waiting for me when we get home are:

... RASCAL FLATTS CONCERT! I haven't been to a concert in forever and this is certainly one I am very exited to attend ...

... and ECLIPSE coming out on Wednesday, June 30th! I've been waiting for this for a very long time. I just re-read the book for the second time and I'm even more excited now. The same group of girls are getting together to see it on opening night, not the midnight showing. We're just all too old to actually function both at work and with our kids the next day! ;)
Have a fabulous week and I'll be thinking of you all while I play in the sand and water!

Friday Randomness

Happy Friday Ya'll! I just realized that I've been so busy with life that I just totally skipped over my Friday Randomness last week! So I'll double time it this week. :) I know you're excited so hold on to your britches ...

I have a boy crush. Not just a toddler or a guy my age but a boy that is literally half my age, or close to it. His name is Kent Boyd. He is 18 years old and was chosen as a contestant on So You Think You Can Dance. He is the most adorable thing ever and I just want to give him a hug!

So can you tell I'm a bit smitten with the boy? He's certainly going to have all my votes.

Update on the house - we haven't had hardly any showings in the past two weeks but we did have one on Thursday. It turns out it was just a realtor previewing the house. She loved it and is planning on showing it to her clients when they come into town next week. Keep your fingers crossed!

Ok so did anyone catch Glee's finale? It was freakin' awesome! Quite possibly the best of the season. I cried like a baby and it left me wanting more. It was mostly Journey songs which I totally dig. And of course the rendition of "Over The Rainbow" by Puck and Mr. Shu was awesome. My friend Carolyn, who is totally awesome, burned me FIVE Glee CD's. You can guess what is playing in my car when I'm crusin' around town. Oh yeah baby - one in each slot ... with Veggie Tales in the 6th slot. :)

Last Saturday I was treated to Wicked ... and it was wicked awesome! I've gone home and downloaded the soundtrack and have been listening to that every day. Even my sister is hooked and that's big!

Have a fabulous weekend! E and I will be playing at the water park at the Y this weekend so I am very excited!

Happy Friday Ya'll!

I have a quick story that is quite hilarious! Yesterday Chris called me after he picked E up from school and said you've gotta hear this. So the class was sitting in circle time doing flashcards with the teacher. The letter O comes up with a picture of a pair of overalls. Ethan must have thought they were pants because he then proceeded to stand up and sing "Pants On The Ground". The teacher said she was just in the floor rolling! By the end of the day four other kids had learned the song and were singing it as well. I'm so glad that I can make a good impression by teaching my song a rap song about ghetto boys with their pants on the ground! LOL!

Tomorrow is my girls day out with friends from back home Amber and Julie as well as my baby sister. We're having a girls lunch at the house, heading to see WICKED!, then having dinner out afterwards. I cannot wait and girl time is way overdue!

Have an awesome weekend!

Friday Randomness

Yipee!!! It's the start to a long weekend and I for one am SO EXCITED! I was just talking to my best friend Carrie on Monday and I told her I felt like a loser because we had zero plans for the Memorial Day weekend. Everyone I know it seems have plans to go to the beach or the pool. So we then made plans to take E to EdVenture Children's Museum in Columbia on Saturday and then we're heading to see Nana and Pa again in Hartsville Sunday evening to Monday. Now I don't feel like such a loser! :)

I decided to wear a dress today to work since I had a client meeting. On other days, I don't get all gussied up. I came out to kiss Ethan good-bye since he is home from school day with Nana and Pa. He then told me I looked like a princess. I was just so surprised and taken aback. It's been on my mind all day and I'm just floating on cloud nine with a big ol' smile on my face. I heart that little booger so much!

Yesterday was Ethan's last day in the toddler class with Miss Becky and Miss Lindsey. The teachers had an ice cream social for all the kids and their parents to say goodbye. After the ice cream we all walked down to their new room and met the new teachers. They were so nice and I had absolutely no problems with them but I lost it. I could not stop crying and I was so embarrassed. At least Miss Lindsey was crying along with me but no other parents were crying! I felt like such a dork! I really adore Miss Lindsey and have so since day one, so seeing E in a new classroom with new teachers is hard for me. I just hope I don't do this EVERY time he changes classes!

After the ice cream social yesterday we took a look at a house in Fort Mill. It was a house I was REALLY excited to see after we've looked at the pictures over and over again and driven by it a few times as well. It is in downtown Fort Mill in a neighborhood that is about fifty years old. I LOVE the fact that we would be buying an older home with charm and someone else's memories. I lost it when we went upstairs to the attic where these homeowners have created a little play area for their grandchildren. There was a ruler fixed to the wall with the heights charted of several different children. There was one child who's height was marked at in 1989 when he was probably 2 years old. Then you could see where it was marked in 2005 where it was above my head. I just started to cry. I want that for our family so much. To live in the same house for years and years and have a house that our children have fond memories in. It really was a charming house, but there are so many little things that we would have to do it, I'm just now a little leery of the work and money that would go into that, although it would be so fun. The backyard was AMAZING though. It felt like I was walking through a park. There were sidewalks leading all through the yard including two bridges over a brook that ran through the yard. Hello - a little boy's dream come true! There also is a large flat area perfect for a playground, or as Chris wants, an area for yard games as well as an in-ground swimming pool, workshop, and many other features. We'll discuss it more and possibly go by and see it one more time. Since we have NOT sold our house yet, I'm not getting too excited. It's always fun to look though!

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

Friday Randomness

I am writing this post from the comfort of my bed with my laptop on a Friday afternoon. I have been stuck in this room for the past 24 plus hours due to a lovely thing called the stomach bug. Ick. They suck ... there's just no other way to describe it. I'm actually able to sit up without getting dizzy, feeling like I'm going to vomit everywhere, and my stomach cramping. Yea! That's something to be positive about. But on a lighter note, I am feeling A LOT better today but my hubby insisted that I stay home and catch up on rest. I'm glad I did because I went back to sleep at 8:30 and woke up at 12. I really must have needed the rest!

Update on the showing we had on Monday. Basically the couple really liked our house (story of our lives) but don't want to buy another house until they sell theirs. Well, our Realtor described it to us and on paper it sounded great. In Fort Mill, 1 1/2 acres, brick ranch house with wood floors and updated cabinetry etc. So I decided to just take a drive past it to see if we would remotely be interested. I was not. It was right on a busy road with people flying by. I couldn't' even slow down enough to look at the house because people were going so fast. The house just wasn't what we are looking for so this is now a dead end. Oh well. There will come a day!

Finales have been on TV for the past week or so and they always make me so sad. Although I always look forward to them partly because it's more than likely going to be the best episode of the season. I'm just sad because they won't be back for at least 3 to 4 months. WOW - if any of you watch Greys' Anatomy ... man I think that was the best finale they've ever had. I didn't think anything could live up to when Denny Dukete died. I think a little bit of me died inside when Denny died, but this one was phenomenal. And then we come to Lost and Glee. My two very favorite shows. Two extremes right? It doesn't make sense for someone to truly be infatuated with Glee and still like Lost. They are two TOTALLY different shows but amazing in its own way. Lost will be disappearing from our lives forever on Sunday night and I'm sure I will be sobbing like a baby. Glee won't be for another three weeks, THANK GOD, but I have read on several blogs that it will be a tearjerker as well. Jeez! But that's what makes it a good episode.

Speaking of shows, I want to catch up on some of these great shows over the summer that I just couldn't fit into my schedule. I really want to see Modern Family and True Blood. Any other suggestions? I am however really looking forward to our favorite summer show So You Think You Can Dance and the new vampire show on ABC The Gates. Delish!

Excuse me while I attempt to find something to eat that doesn't turn my stomach or come back up in 30 minutes. Oops - sorry for the T.M.I. Happy Friday and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Friday Randomness

Happy Friday ya'll!

Ok so I just realized that I did not do my 10 Things I Learned This Week soooo I'm gonna just blab on and on about what's been going on / on my mind for the past week!

I'm SO glad Glee is BACK! Meaning, back to it's roots and staying funny and lighthearted. Last week was such a Debbie Downer. If any of you saw it you know exactly what I mean! This week was upbeat with favorites such as "Ice Ice Baby" and "You Can't Touch This!" HELLO! That's what I grew up on so of course I'm gonna love it! Check it out on Fox.com/glee or Hulu. It's so worth it!

Starbucks is having a half off frappuccinos Happy Hour from May 7 - 16th! I for one am very excited about this and you'll probably see me rolling myself down the street after this week is over. Frapps are my favorite after a hot day!

It has been determined that the Lost series finale will be 2 1/2 hours on Sunday, May 23rd from 9:00 to 11:30 PM. Preceding the finale will be a retrospective special from 7 PM to 9 PM looking back at the past six seasons. So pretty much Chris and I will be parked in front of the TV from 7 to 11:30 PM! Fun stuff!
I think we are going to go strawberry picking tomorrow morning in Fort Mill at the Springs Far. Special for my Mother's Day weekend! I am excited because none of us have done it before so it should be fun. Stay tuned for lots of pictures I'm sure!
Have a great Mother's Day weekend to all your mommies out there!

Friday Randomness

HAPPY FRIDAY FRIENDS AND FAMILY!

Is it just me or has the excitement from Twilight just completely fizzled? It stinks. When New Moon was approaching it's premiere date, fans were a flutter everywhere. My favorite twifans blog, twilighters.org, was constantly posting all kinds of stuff including clips and pictures from the movie. That hasn't happened with Eclipse at all. I'm hoping it picks up soon because I'm ready to get excited!

As far as an update on the house, we had a showing on Saturday with an older couple. Apparently it was the realtors parents. Her dad loved it but her mom did not like a part of the layout, which obviously we cannot change. So that one's a no-go. We had another one on Wednesday night. I thought they never showed up because I was babysitting down the street so I kept looking out the window every ten minutes but never saw anyone show up. It turns out they did show up but probably for like 15 minutes. It turns out the price was too high for them. THEN WHY ARE YOU VIEWING THE HOUSE IF IT'S OUT OF YOUR RANGE!?! The whole process is getting a bit frustrating so I'm trying to keep the faith that it will sell ... someday! Chris and I have talked with our realtor about the fact that there are now two houses on our street that are priced lower than ours with the same square footage or more. It's making us appear over-priced although our home has a good bit more to offer than the other ones do. We'll see what she says and if we need to stick to our guns or drop the price. I am just getting irritated with hearing it's too high but yet NO one has put in an offer to see what we would take. I guess no one is in love with the house enough to really want to put an offer in. We'll see what happens next.
I found out yesterday that HT triples are back starting next Wednesday. Yea! At least that cheers me up. :)
We are looking forward to a fun weekend. The Come See Me Festival (Rock Hill's spring festival) is winding down tomorrow with a tailgating and fireworks show out at the Winthrop Lake. We have gone three times and I've really enjoyed it every time. It is kinda a big hoopla to set up the whole nine yards - ie, tent, cooler, food, etc. So, this year we're going to drive by Bojangles with some good ol' tailgating food and head out around 6 PM with a blanket and a rolling cooler. Carrie and Kaitlyn as well as my sister, Liv, will be joining us so we'll just throw the kids in a wagon and get our roll on. LOL. We also will be taking E to an event called Everything Trucks on Saturday morning where there will be, well, everything trucks. He's gonna love it!
So ... did anyone catch Glee Tuesday night!? It was AWESOME! Of course, I've already watched it twice and loved every minute of it. It literally just gets better from week to week. * sigh * Glee how you complete me.

My new Christian band that I like is Sidewalk Prophets. They have a really inspirational song on the radio now called "The Words I Would Say". If you've never heard their music, check them out here. They're awesome!

Have a great weekend!

Friday Randomness

Happy Friday ya'll!

Wow - I have so many random things to discuss so hold on to your britches...

Two weeks ago I had a mole check up with the dermatologist. First of all I don't like the word mole - I'd rather call it a freckle. The word mole just like an old woman with tons of gross moles all over her body. Anyways - it turns out that I had to have three removed. One that was just cosmetic and two that were questionable. A week later I got a call with the results of the biopsy. One of them was called a Compound Nevus and they wanted to take more out to make sure it does not turn into melanoma. MELANOMA!?! I was a little freaked out and she assured me it was nothing to worry about. Well, me worry!? NAH! But ya know what? All of a sudden a calmness came over me and I actually wasn't worried. I trust God and I know all will be ok. I went back in Wednesday morning for more removal and I'll hear in a week if there is no more concern there.

Last Wednesday we showed our house for the second time in a month. Several days went by and we STILL didn't get the feedback. Our awesome realtor was in touch letting us know that she has been emailing and texting and calling the other realtor and still no word. Monday morning we finally heard back! The potential buyer has not officially ruled anything out but she is still searching. We are in her top three and will make a decision by the end of the month to get the tax credit. We'll see! We also had a realtor preview Thursday morning where twelve realtors came by to view the house to see if it would fit any of their buyers. There was lots of positive feedback and a few of them will be seeing the house with their clients! Awesome!

I was looking at another blog recently and saw where this girl had started a bucket list of things she wanted to do or see or accomplish in her lifetime. I think I may start one so be on the lookout! Hers had 100 bullet points! OMG seriously!?

Have a fabulous weekend! We'll be joining in on the Come See Me Festival activities. Should be lots of fun!
