We started this whole roller coaster ride on Saturday morning and have been trying to go strong all weekend. Saturday went pretty well in my opinion. E wet his pants a few times but towards the end of the day we were starting to catch on to the signs and we would rush him to the potty. We even made a chart for him to put stickers on when he stayed dry, went pee and went poo, which of course didn't happen at all on day number one. We just kept him busy with a ton of activities - from puzzles, to playing with cars, to coloring to reading books. He stayed dry during his nap - YIPEE - and by the end of the day, we all were pooped! After literally six or seven trips to the potty before calling it a night (all E's choosing).
Sunday morning, E came to me at 3 AM ... DRY! I asked if he was dry and he said yes, and then ran to the potty, like he knew what to do. He peed and got back in the bed with us until 7 AM. So he stayed dry all night! I was so excited for him and we gave him a little prize ... a new ambulance. He was so psyched! So the rest of the day went just like the day before. He did decide he wanted to poop and I caught him mid-poop and we ran to the potty, but it was too late. It was literally just a little turd and he was done. :) Didn't want to be in the bathroom anymore so we just moved on. I'm hoping we'll have another opportunity to catch it earlier today! This day just seemed to drag on and on! By 7:30 PM we then called it a day once again.
This morning E came to our room by 6 AM and he was wet. I was a little bummed but he was really upset. He was just whining and I think he was uncomfortable. He knew he was wet and then proceeded to run to the potty again. I put him on the potty and he didn't go, which makes me think he may have woken himself up by peeing in the bed this morning. Not too bad - it's a new day so we're on to something new! We are now going on day number three of potty training and it's now getting a little frustrating, at least to Chris. He is at home with him this morning while I will take over for the afternoon/evening shift. We are a little afraid that he won't be ready for day care tomorrow and I'm not sure either. We'll have to see by the end of the day.
Wish us luck!
