10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. It feels so good to do some yard work.  I feel like I really accomplish something when I sit back and see the work I've put blood, sweat and tears into.
  2. I've truly enjoyed my summer naps with my buddy Ethan.
  3. Hearing Eli say uh-oh is the most precious thing ever.
  4. Eli LOVES the water park!
  5. We finally have baby step three completed in the Dave Ramsey plan!  Whaooo!
  6. I have been a blubbering hot mess watching these Olympians win gold.  That may have something to do with something that happens once a month.  Just sayin.
  7. It breaks my heart to see these athletes who work so hard fall short of winning a medal.
  8. I so happy.  There's a Starbucks coming to our Harris Teeter and a Five Guys and Krispy Kreme coming to Rock Hill!!!
  9. Seeing Michael Phelps win his very last gold (as far as we know) was bittersweet and something I'm glad I got to witness in my lifetime.
  10. Our guest bedroom is almost complete!  Just curtains and a few throw pillows and we're in business!

10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. Why does The Bachelorette suck me in everytime!?!
  2. It's scary to see what people are capable of doing.  Just frighening.
  3. One more month left to find things for Ethan to do before school starts back ...  sigh.
  4. When you least expect it to your mama bear instinct comes roaring out in order to protect your baby cubs.
  5. Spending the day in bed feeling like you're dying is not my idea of fun.  Both Chris and I had the stomach flu this week ... ick.
  6. My hubby is amazing. He really swept in and took care of me and our babies while I was sick. The house was quiet most of the day and I didn't hear any knock down, drag out fights, so that's a plus!
  7. I LOVE the Opening Ceremony for the Olympics.  It just amazes me to see the creativity that goes into something that grand.  Just amazing.
  8. It makes my heart happy to spend time with family.  I am so blessed to have married into a warm and loving family.  I just love them to pieces.
  9. I never thought I'd enjoy watching beach volleyball as much I have today.  It's a nail-biter!
  10. It sure would be nice to have a pick up truck.

10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. Don't call a he a she.  You'll be trying to pull your foot out your mouth the rest of the day.  But seriously, don't dress like a dude and I won't think you're a dude.
  2. I go to sleep every night excited about the fact that I'm going to have a cup of hot coffee waiting to greet me.  Oh how I love thee. (Is that sad?)
  3. Speaking of loving coffee, don't drink a Grande latte at night or you'll be up til 1 am tossing and turning.
  4.  I am addicted to Kathleen Copes popcorn!  It's made with coconut oil and absolutely fabulous!
  5. I don't like change, especially a fill-in Zumba instructor. Not cool.
  6. I am so thankful for a handy hubby.   He has been making all kinds of stuff around here out of some reclaimed wood in our backyard and it's just fabulous.  Somebody has been looking at Pinterest way too much.
  7. I'm totally digging these Ball jar light fixtures (check out Pinterest) and it's going to be added to my long list of DIY.
  8. I love a late afternoon thunderstorm but not while sitting in a car feeling like a light post is about to fall on your car at any point.  Yikes!
  9. I love New Girl!  It's been rerunning all summer and I'm reminded of how brilliant it is.  I heart Zooey Deschanel.  She is precious!
  10.  I love a long afternoon nap snuggled up with E.  I've been lucky to get two in this week!  Yay!

10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. I've given up on the reality that I will never be tan.ever.again.
  2. Watching a loggerhead turtle crawl from the ocean to lay her eggs in person is the most amazing thing I've.
  3. My soul needs a trip to the mountains is in order!  I miss that clean mountain air and incredible views.
  4. Sweet little boy hugs and kisses is something a mama needs every single day.
  5. Watching my baby boy learn new words every day is incredible.
  6. Ethan is very close to being able to swim on his own.  He gets really excited to be in the pool!
  7. I love long naps on vacation, and now I'm back to reality and miss them.
  8. There is ALWAYS a project to work on, especially when you have a new home.  Lots of new opportunities.  Next is finishing the guest room, getting Ethan's room painted, and painting a tree (yikes!) in Eli's room.
  9. No hair dryer and minimal make up on vacation is the best!
  10. Unpacking from vacation sucks.

10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. Being home for a while before baby comes is pretty cool I have to say. Now, throw two kids in the mix and I'm will be whistling a different tune.
  2. Starting a new book is so refreshing ... I am reading "The Help" and it is fantastic. Thanks to Susan for the recommendation!
  3. Babies babies babies - all over the place!
  4. Sometimes God has to break you to have you carry His will to be done. It's actually listening to that cue and acting on it that is the hard part.
  5. We now have a Riverbanks Zoo yearly membership. I sure hope Ethan enjoys every minute of it and so far, it's definitely been worth it ... and we've only gone once.
  6. Making meals ahead of time to freeze and have for when baby comes is hard work. Thinking of an actual menu is harder. So far I have two spaghetti meals (sauce), two meatloaf meals and one breakfast casserole meal. This this week my plan is to make two chicken and dumpling, two chicken pot pie meals and some miscellaneous desserts like pound cake, muffins and chocolate chip cookies, by request of my hubby. Wish me luck!
  7. I have never taken so many warm baths in my life. I think I have taken one every single day, and even two here and there. It just helps so much with the pain and discomfort! Thank God for baths!
  8. Pregnancy certainly does change your sense of smell. I bought a Yankee Candle a few weeks ago that I've always liked. I burned it at least four times and have hated it every time. I thought I would change my mind but I didn't. Thank goodness Y.C. will let you switch out whatever you don't like. Trusty Lavender Vanilla is burning as we speak. Ummmm
  9. I still cannot believe that I will have a newborn baby, God willing, in my arms in three weeks or less! And Ethan will be a big brother!
  10. Thank God for a gorgeous weekend full of life and spring. It's coming!!!

10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. Sometimes your three year old can comfort you beyond what you ever think he could. Thank God I am raising a compassionate child.
  2. You can feel intense pain for someone that is going through hard times even if it's not actually happening to you.
  3. Discovery Place Kids Musuem in Huntersville, NC is totally cool. We took Ethan along with our friends The Cashs' this past weekend. Check out the website for yourself. It's geared towards 18 months to 5 years old so it was perfect for Ethan and Ian. They could do and understand so much.
  4. Life is different from here on out. Monday is my very last day as a full time employee at Kitchen Masters of Charlotte. My full time job will be a stay at home mommy MAYBE doing part time work if the kids allow me to. Prayers please.
  5. Five more weeks until this baby is welcomed into the world and our family!
  6. As risque as Glee was this past week, it was one of the best I've seen in a while. It was hilarious when they all got drunk - that's sad that my comedy relief has succumbed to this.
  7. I've gotta get hoppin' on my pre-made frozen dinners for when the baby gets here. Any suggestions of meals that freeze well???
  8. I'm starting to nest and will be doing so for the next five weeks. My poor hubby - I've got a honey-do list that already has 6 items, and counting.
  9. I'm watching the Oscars right now ... and am about to fall asleep. So boring this year.
  10. I'm LOVING this warm weather this week! And the trees and flowers are already in bloom!?! I HEART SPRING!

10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. People will not be afraid to tell you that you are getting fatter. Wow - thanks. I'm growing a child here!
  2. No matter how many naps you try to squeeze in one weekend you never feel rested.
  3. I just learned that Sugarland is having a concert at the BiLo center in Greenville March 10th. This makes me sad in more ways than one because I just can't go - unless I can talk some girlfriends into going since I won't be working in March. Any takers? Keep in mind I will be 36 weeks preggo and it may not be the very best idea.
  4. How can infant clothes be so friggin' cute but cost an arm and a leg? I've been looking at both a coming home and Easter outfit for baby #2. The spring line is A-DOR-ABLE but expensive! I guess I better wait a month until consignment sales start back.
  5. Did I mention spring consignment is in one month!?!
  6. Sometimes the best dinner is a big bowl of multi grain Cheerios.
  7. I love me some Marky Mark and Amy Adams and Christian Bale ... put em' all together and you've got Fighter ... which I love me some. Great movie I must say and certainly worth all the Golden Globe nominations!
  8. Did I ever mention that this baby does not. stop. moving?
  9. I'm NOW starting to get anxious but excited about the nursery. In two weeks we are painting, then it's vinyl cling birch trees (thank God for them), curtains and shelves, then hopefully we'll have a crib bumper done. Right Nana? ;) Then tada! It'll be done! THEN I can put some pictures up!
  10. While I see so many people going skiing and tubing, I'm not even jealous in the least.

10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. When life gets busy, it's hard to make the time to blog. I apologize.
  2. I sure do love the holidays but boy am I glad when they are over! I see people on FB posting that they are depressed to take down the Christmas decorations. I"m like "BRING IT ON!"
  3. The woes of third trimester are settling in early. I've had a few bouts of heartburn at night and my feet and hands are starting to feel tingly and swollen too. Great! I had no swelling with Ethan so I was lucky in that department, so I'm trying to drink LOTS of water and not eat so much salt but that's easier said than done.
  4. I found a recipe for Olive Garden's Chicken Scampi and made it tonight. It was awesome and it is going down in the cookbook of dinners to make again and again! Yum! All I need now is some OG salad and bread sticks.
  5. I am itching to scrapbook all these adorable pictures we captured from Christmas and the day after snowfall. I need a scrap night ASAP!
  6. I don't like making New Year's resolutions.
  7. I've been having bad dreams a lot lately of me gaining a whole mess of weight during this pregnancy. I even had a bad dream last night that the doctor had a little discussion with me that I was gaining too much weight! Ahhh! I've only gained 11 pounds to date which doesn't sound like a lot but to me I look like I've gained so much more.
  8. I'm excited to get started on the nursery. It's going to be different and alot of fun!
  9. I have a prayer request - Ethan has been blinking a lot recently, off and on, but more so the past two weeks. It's more when he's watching TV or reading a book and it's a hard blink like he's trying to refocus. I watch him all the time with different activities and he doesn't do it while playing or riding in the car or anything else, but just when it comes to things that are close up. I've made an appointment for his 3 year check up with the pediatrician next Wednesday as well as a pediatric optometrist for January 31st. This particular doctor is part of Charlotte Ear Nose and Throat and apparently books out 2 to 3 months in advance. Since Ethan is an "established" patient from his ear infection days, we were able to get in for that date. A week after I made the appointment, I got a letter in the mail telling me of things to prepare for the appointment. Like to plan for a 2 1/2 to 3 hour appointment and that they will dilate his eyes. Great! This is going to be loads of fun! I'm gonna need a Valium for this kid. Of course it is natural for a mom to worry, and me being a world class worry wart doesn't help at all. Please pray for these appointments to go well and that if there is a problem that it's easily resolved and won't require anything extensive. Pray for me to have a peace about it and for the appointment to go smoothly as well.
  10. I also have another prayer request - our follow up ultrasound for baby #2 is next Tuesday, January 4th. I really have felt at peace and felt God with me since we've received the news. Some days I just plain forget about it. Just pray that this cyst has resolved and that we will find a 100% healthy baby boy in there.

10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. I stretch myself way too thin, especially this time of year.
  2. I also have a problem saying no. I have got to learn what is too much.
  3. Watching a bunch of 2 1/2 and 3 year olds sing and dance to "Rocking Around The Christmas Tree" is the cutest thing I've ever seen.
  4. There are some things in life that you constantly struggle with. No matter how much you try to ignore them or pray about them, they are always there.
  5. Seeing your little man run a temp of 102 is no fun, for me or him.
  6. I am in such a dinner rut! I buy all these groceries and have no idea what to do with them. I feel so incredibly stupid like I've never cooked before! It's so frustrating. Anyone else go through this!?!
  7. Speaking of the stretching myself too thin thingy, I am slated to make 5 dozen sugar cookies by next weekend. At least it's for a good cause, the Children's Home. I'm literally just going to be worn slap out.
  8. Ethan will be having his 3rd birthday party this weekend! Fun stuff!
  9. Ethan LOVED seeing Santa this year! Update post to follow!
  10. I've got a OB/GYN appointment tomorrow - keep me in your prayers! As an update, our follow up ultrasound will be in another 4 weeks - 1st week of January more than likely.

10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. I am in love with Etsy.com! I recently stumbled upon this site when looking for a personalized t-shirt for Ethan's 3rd birthday and realized they have SO MUCH! If you need anything personalized or just cool fun stuff, check it out! You'll also fall in love.
  2. Glee's sectionals are Tuesday night... already?
  3. Ethan named his Elf Logan. Don't really know where he got that name from but hey, it's cute, and it's working! If he starts to act stank, we remind him that Logan is watching, and he shapes up pretty quick. Again, brilliant.
  4. The baby is certainly kicking up a storm and I am so excited. Chris felt him kick for the first time this weekend.
  5. Eclipse comes out on DVD on Saturday! Yipee!
  6. This time of year I feel like I am going 100 miles per hour. With Christmas decorating, shopping, Ethan's birthday and party, etc, it's just insane. I certainly love this time of year but I do look forward to January too.
  7. We are a bit closer to finishing E's bedroom. We just got the matching bookshelf that Chris is putting together as we speak. We just have to finish the artwork, make the chalkboard frame and make a shelf ... see what I mean about too much to do!
  8. I'm getting very excited about the new nursery - it's going to be an outdoorsy/owl theme with browns, greens and blues. Can't wait!
  9. We have a name for the little one .. but shhhh it's a secret!
  10. I will be 31 on Friday ... jeez! But on the bright side, I am taking the day off, having a prenatal massage, lunch with my BFF Carrie at PF Changs and my mom and dad are coming up to see me Saturday! Couldn't ask for a better birthday!

10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. Christmas gets started earlier and earlier every year. This year, as much as I hate to admit it, I think I may bust out the boxes before turkey day. Shhh don't tell anyone.
  2. The cost of a custom made crib bumper is insane. I mean like really insane. I mean like $350 insane. Ummm thanks but no thanks. I think I need to take up sewing so I can learn to make my own stuff.
  3. I think Ethan is staring to get the concept of the baby being in mommy's belly. Just this weekend he offered me a scoop of ice cream because he said the baby needed it. And yes... baby needs it. :)
  4. One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone tells you they will be here at a certain time and they are 2 1/2 hours late ... and don't even call to tell you! ARGH!
  5. In reference to #4, that was for Ethan's new mattress. Although he did get to sleep in his new big boy bed Friday night. But instead of being excited when he went to bed, he told Chris he didn't like it and wanted back in his old bed, his crib. By Sunday night, he was good to go though. Pictures soon to come when it's 100% complete - promise!
  6. Ethan's favorite book lately is the Toys R Us Big Christmas Toy Book. He parks his behind on the couch every morning when he's all ready for school and stares at it while he's pointing out every single item that he wants ... which is every single item. He will get to the "girlie" page and say "That's for girls ... "
  7. We have two presents down for E from "Santa" and we hope to get the rest of it tonight! I just don't want to be in that crazy mess of shopping while I'm with child, and I don't think Chris will want that either. Although I must admit being in the mall with the Christmas music playing and shoppers going here and there is very exciting. I'd just rather get my Starbucks, sit on a bench and people watch.
  8. South Park has a BEAUTIFUL pictures-with-Santa-set-up. This Santa makes the Rock Hill Galleria Santa look like a chump.
  9. I'm doing pretty good to have my Christmas cards already ordered BEFORE Thanksgiving this year. I feel like I am just on top of it! Must be the nesting.
  10. I'm so excited for Thanksgiving this year. I have so much to be thankful for that I can hardly stand it. I am so sad I won't get to see my side of the family on this special day, but I will be with Chris' family which is equally as great!

10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. Winthrop's new and updated campus is AMAZING! I told Chris I want to go back to college again. We went to WU's homecoming this past weekend and toured around the new student center. They even have a Starbucks! What the ...?!?
  2. How can your child be technically speaking potty trained, both day and night, then regress? E has had accidents every single day at school last week that we just got frustrated and told him no TV, aka "Phin and Ferb", until he has no accidents. I thought it sounded harsh when Chris told him, but knock on wood, it has worked so far. He did great all weekend - no accidents, until church, but then he did awesome at school today. He gets Fin and Ferb as a reward so let's hope that helps. Any of your kids regress after a while?
  3. I love feeling the support of friends and family when going through hard times. Love and friendship is amazing.
  4. I cannot wait for Thanksgiving! I can't wait to spend time with my family and my mouth is watering at the thought of all the yummy food.
  5. I am loving keeping up with http://www.twifans.com/ and the latest info on the taping of Breaking Dawn. Currently they are taping the honeymoon and it's fantabulous. If you're a big fan, check it out. There are some crazy fans out there who stalk these actors, but thank God for them. :)
  6. Ethan's mattress for his new full, yes FULL, bed is being delivered on Friday! Yipee! So that means he'll be sleeping in his brand new big boy bed / room for the weekend. Let's hope this keeps him in his bed, although I certainly loved snuggling up to him last night at 2 AM.
  7. Ethan sneaking in our room at 2 AM every night is wearing me down quickly, but I don't think I'd trade it for anything in the world. I'm sure I'll look back when he's a teenager and wish he would come snuggle with me.
  8. I am loving this misty rain we have right now. It makes me want to snuggle up with a good book.
  9. Speaking of books, I need a list to give to my Secret Santa. Any suggestions?
  10. I will be 31 in three weeks. Yikes!

10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. Waiting is just agony. Especially when it comes down to just less than 24 hours before you know if you're going to have a new daughter or son.
  2. I can make a killer carrot cake. I have the yellow nails to prove it.
  3. Our house looks like it was in a snow globe where you shake it up and see where all the pieces land. In the past two days we have had our living room moved to the bonus room and our bonus room moved to the living room. Pictures soon to come. How soon - I can't promise.
  4. Can I keep a secret for the next 4 months? Umm I'm not sure. Chris and I want to keep the name of our unborn boy/girl a secret until the day it's born but I'm not so sure I can do it.
  5. Having all this leftover chocolate from Halloween in our house is not doing much for my figure. LOL what figure! I have a huge bump in the front!
  6. Glee is going to rock it tomorrow night! See the next clip:
  7. Blogger just frustrates the heck out of me sometimes!!!
  8. Being preggo has it's upsides - I've always been one to bite my tongue on what I think about a certain something or subject, but lately I've just had diarrhea of the mouth. LOL It's kinda liberating.
  9. Praying for a dear friend and her sweet baby girl is on my prayer list every single day.
  10. Did I mention we find out TOMORROW IF WE ARE HAVING A GIRL OR BOY!!?!?!?

10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. My son is a dancing party machine...literally! At Frankie and Ashley's wedding this weekend I have never seen him dance so much. He sat down on the ground, took his shoes off, and danced holes into his socks. He didn't even stop to eat. After about 3 hours, I finally got him to eat some cheese crackers. He was learning the Cupid Shuffle, the Macarena, and Electric Slide. It was hilarious!
  2. Seeing my son and hubby in a tux brought me to tears when he was walking down the aisle. I don't want to think about the day when I'll actually see that at his own wedding. Oh lawd!
  3. We have a new sister in law, Ashley Johnson!!!
  4. Old people will not hold back in telling you exactly what they think ... like the fact that you're gaining hips and "Are you sure you're not due earlier than you think?". Bless them - I try to take it as a compliment, right?
  5. I can never get enough of hearing compliments on our son. Of course we think he's just peachy, but apparently so do a lot of other people. The best compliment I heard yesterday was from Pa when he thanked us for raising a wonderful grandson that has become his heart. Ok - tear. Thanks Pa - you are one amazing man.
  6. My baby bump is out of control. I feel like it's so huge and I'm only 16 weeks! Please tell me it's just the second baby.
  7. Do you ever feel like there is not enough hours in the day or days in the week to do what you both want to do and need to do.
  8. I'm so excited to take E to the apple farm next weekend. I'm especially excited about the apple cider doughnuts!
  9. I have an awesome mother who is coming this week to help out with painting E's room in the process of transitioning it into a big boy room. Yipee!
  10. I will have my 16 week check up tomorrow and with fingers crossed, I hope to talk them into letting us find out what we are having at 18 weeks instead of 19 or 20. Let's hope so!!

10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. I am so excited for our camping trip this coming weekend! Either I'm brave or crazy to take this trip while I'm pregnant but now is the time to go. I'm feeling so much better now and am excited to experience this for the first time with E and to celebrate the fall season.
  2. It's amazing to see how prayers are answered when there are so many people praying. God is great!
  3. I think my son gains more and more energy the older he gets. This weekend he literally did NOT stop talking or did not slow down for a minute.
  4. Nesting has REALLY set in. Now I'm thinking about doing a little work to the kitchen. Eek - at least Chris is halfway on board with this one.
  5. Finding a dress for a wedding while you're in the "in-between" stages of pregnancy is hard! While I'm only 14 weeks and there definitely is a baby bump going on, maternity dresses are way too big and normal sized dresses (non-preggo) are too tight! My sister patiently went shopping with me on Saturday for 4 hours to South Park Mall and Destination Maternity. FINALLY we found a very cute and affordable dress in Anthropologie, which is now one of my most favorite stores!
  6. I cannot WAIT for Glee this week. It's faith based which should be awesome and sure to jerk quite a few tears.
  7. We asked Ethan what he wanted to name the baby when it's born and he said "eagle". Umm ok. Eagle it is.
  8. I'm really craving some candy corn pumpkins. Ummm.
  9. I'm also really craving a candy apple and carnival food.
  10. I've just added Modern Family and Raising Hope to the DVR. It's so refreshing to watch something so funny every now and then.

10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. It's baaaccck! My 10 Things I Learned This Week! Yipee!
  2. It feels so nice to actually blog about my pregnancy instead of keeping it a secret.
  3. Glee is BACK! And man I am so happy! Of course, as you can guess, I watched last weeks' episode three times and listen to the songs at work on gleesongs.com. Pure bliss.
  4. I already have a case of the nesties ... starting to clean, organize and get things ready for baby #2 ... we still have 6 months to go! Poor Chris - he is already about to pull his hair out, if he had any to pull out.
  5. My dear friend Julie will be having sweet little Ivy Caroline tomorrow! I cannot wait to see pictures of that sweet thing.
  6. Is fall actually here!?! I will take this rain and dreariness any ol' day if it means I can wear pants and a long sleeved shirt.
  7. Ahhh welcome back exercise. Oh how I have missed you. After 8 weeks on hiatus, I actually attempted to go to the gym today. I think I did pretty darn good. I walked for 25 minutes and even did a few light weights.
  8. Ahhh welcome back coffee. Oh how I have missed you even more. Again ... after not even being interested in the slightest, I tried a SBUX latte this weekend with mom and even made a small pot this morning and enjoyed my one cup. It was just as delightful as I imagined it would be.
  9. After talking with Chris about all the things I want to accomplish the month of October, I quickly realized we haven't one weekend to do them. We literally have every single weekend in October booked up. Oops.
  10. I'm dying to see several chick flick movies. Has anyone seen Easy A or You Again? And I can't wait for Life As We Know It.

10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. Having a night to yourself is great, but just isn't the same without being snuggled up to your family.
  2. The best surprises come in a little box.
  3. I'm looking forward to sharing next weekend with Nana and Pa in good ole' Hartsville. A visit to Midnight Rooster and Pam's hopefully will be in store!
  4. Valentine's Day is such a great movie! I laughed, cried and cheered!
  5. There's no better smell than chocolate chip cookies baking in the oven.
  6. There's no better sound than the rain falling on the rooftop while you're drifting off to sleep.
  7. When God closes one door, he opens another. Amazing.
  8. I heart the Lady Antebellum CD. It is just fabulous.
  9. I really like Lindsay Duncan's Friday Five Senses, where you comment on what your five favorite senses were for the week. I may have to steal that from you girl.
  10. Sometimes you can't come up with 10 things you learned ...

10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. Too much Carrie is a good thing. We spent time together Friday, Saturday AND Sunday. I got spoiled.
  2. Feeling a baby kick in a preggos' belly is the absolute coolest thing in the world.
  3. Ethan loves being a "nakee" boy and I love seeing him run around and act crazy. Apparently so does Ian Thomas.
  4. This 100 plus degree heat sucks. I literally feel like I am melting as soon as I get outside.
  5. I am ready to re-do my master bedroom, still keeping the existing light blue wall color of course. What do ya'll think about this?
  6. I miss my sister. Lucky for me she's coming down to have some EE and Aunt Liv time this week. I guess I fit in there somewhere! ;)
  7. Have you ever wanted something so badly that all you seem to do is pray for it, over and over and over again? I'm sure God is so sick of me asking for it, but ask and you shall receive right? ;)
  8. I'm not a really big comic book fan but Chris has created me to be. Not necessarily the books, but the movies that are made from the books. Marvel is coming out with "The Avengers" and "Thor" soon and I for one am excited. I love all Marvel movies, especially Iron Man but mostly just for Robert Downey Jr.
  9. You know me and coupons - I ran across this site called http://www.retailmenot.com/. It has coupon codes for tons of stores and restaurants. It's worth it to check it before you're going shopping our out to dinner to see what you can find!
  10. Tagging items for consignment is a lot of hard work ... and I'm only doing the bare minimum. I can't imagine doing boxes and boxes of clothes!

10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. Book of Eli is an amazing movie. Once you get past the gore and slight weirdness of being in the future after a nuclear war, the story is wonderful with a nice twist at the end. Gotta love those Sixth Sense type of movies. Check it out at your next Red Box! :)
  2. Potty training sucks. Just sucks. I mean, what is so hard about peeing and pooping in a potty? Really? I am trying to be patient but I wish it would just CLICK! I'm tired of cleaning up turds off the floor. I did that with my dog. Never did I think I would have to do that again. I was dead wrong. ;)
  3. Hearing my son do his night night prayers melts my heart. That sweet little innocent voice with his hands pressed together is enough to make anyone sigh.
  4. We are taking E on his first camping trip on Labor Day weekend ... and we have officially gone nuts. Nah just kidding. I am really excited and I think it's going to be a fun bonding experience for all three of us.
  5. Getting back in the gym for the first time in three weeks is NOT fun. No energy. No motivation. I just have to make myself get up and go and I know I'll feel better. Anyone else feel this way?
  6. Why do we get so excited about a vacation and the build up to it only to have it come crashing down once we get home. I've not felt like cooking much or doing much of anything since we've been back ... and that was almost a month ago! It's almost like how you feel after your wedding is over and there is nothing left to plan. Maybe that's just me ... I'm a planner and I'm not content when I'm not planning something.
  7. My parents are quite the world travelers. They are currently in Germany cruising along a river for the next three weeks. Say a little prayer for them.
  8. This Saturday Chris will be 31 years old.
  9. Some people just weren't born with the gift of being able to visualize. I have had the worst run of clients lately that I've had to explain interior design terminology to them over and over and over ... and they just don't get it. Ohhh I do try to stay focused and patient, but that is not my middle name. It literally makes me want to put the phone on mute and scream ... and then come back on with a smiling face ready to answer the next stupid question. ;) Then I try to remember, "There are no stupid questions."
  10. If I want it bad enough, I can get showered and ready, with make up and hair brushed, in ten minutes. Especially if you thrown Eclipse at me. And yes, this would be my third time seeing it. Don't judge.

10 Things I Learned This Week

  1. Going to a movie stag is not so bad. I've always been the type of person who cannot eat by myself in the caf in college so going to the movies by my lonesome is a huge step! Friday afternoon between getting off work and going to scrapbook with Carrie I had two hours. How perfect to fit in a movie!
  2. Eclipse is SO much better the second time around. I can't imagine how much better it would be the third time around! :)
  3. Every weekend we are on the go, go, go. I am looking forward to a couple of weekends very soon that we will be in town able to just hang.
  4. Reading a new series of books is so refreshing. Especially a Christian series. I just finished "Redemption", the first book of a series of five books, by Karen Kingsbury. I could not put it down and can't wait for the next one. It was so inspirational from a Christian viewpoint but yet adds romance and drama. My kinda book!
  5. I am so looking forward to fall on these hot and humid days. It seems like it's so far away!
  6. Scrappin' with Carrie is one of my most favorite things to do.
  7. As much as I do not like summer, I am missing being on the beach and feeling that breeze.
  8. I have got to get back into couponing. After preparing for our vacation, going and getting back has gotten me out of the swing of things.
  9. I need to also get my butt back into the gym. All this mint chocolate chip ice cream I'm consuming is going to catch up with me sooner or later.
  10. Did I say that summer is my LEAST favorite season?
